D.E. Scorpio Corporation chose McLeod General Trades for a $35M project involving a total campus upgrade, including complete building demolition, new construction, additions, renovations, and repurposing a 50+-year-old multi-building campus. This campus serves approximately 750 students in grades 6-8 each year in the east Gainesville area. Howard Bishop combines traditional and progressive approaches to education and exhibits strengths in academics, music, and technology. Bishop has a strong major program that focuses on a steady increase of reading, writing, math, science, and social studies skills to prepare students for high school and to be lifelong learners in our complex society. Bishop also houses a magnet program, The Academy of Technology and Gifted Studies, in which students focus on accelerated learning and develop a high level of technology expertise.
